Avila Beach Central California Day Trip
|
Avila Beach is
a quaint little town on the Central Coast of California. The
town is a popular place for a day relaxing at the beach. Ocean
water temperatures are warmer here due to its location on San
Luis Bay. In the early 1980's a huge oil spill was discovered
underneath the town of Avila. Much of the downtown area was
dug up with many of the original buildings lost forever. Since
then the new Avila has rebounded to become a favorite central
coast destination. There is shopping, ice cream and snow cone
stands, and plenty of beach side sports. Take a ride on the
trolley or stroll through the streets when you are not soaking
up rays on the beach or splashing with the kids in the lagoon.
Avila Beach is the perfect place to explore the California central
coast from. There are several excellent hotels and even more
hotels in nearby Pismo Beach.
What once was a hidden little central coast beach town is blossoming
into modern resort. Some old timers may miss the gold old days
but cental coast travelers will appreciate all the shops and
restaurants that have built. The beach here is wide and clean
perfect for a day at the beach. Discover why central coast locals
make Avila beach there top destination. |
