Balboa
Park San Diego California
|
Balboa Park is
one of San Diego's most visited attractions with admission to
many of the parks features free. The park has 13 museums most
of which are housed in buildings from the 1915 Panama-California
Exposition. Balboa Park also has several gardens including the
Alcazar Garden, Botanical Building, Cactus Garden, Japanese
Friendship Garden and the Palm Canyon. The most popular place
in Balboa Park is the world famous San
Diego Zoo. Balboa Park is a short drive
from downtown San Diego and can also be reached by public transportation.
The main parking lot is on the east side of Park Blvd., between
Presidents Way and the Balboa Park Activity Center. Parking
is free in the various lots located throughout the Park plus
there is limited street parking. You can spend the whole day
at Balboa Park and spend very little, if any money. If you do
decide to visit some of the attractions that have an entrance
fee then the Passport
to Balboa Park gets you into them all for one low price.
The passport is good for seven days after first use giving you
plenty of time to visit each attraction. Another option is the
Go San Diego card
which includes admissions. |
