Blues for the zoo is a fundraiser for the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. The line-up of world class blues, food booths and artisan fair. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day of show.

Children 10 and under admitted free of charge. Parking is $4.00. Tickets are available from the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, 630 Bartlett Road and at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo Gift Shop, 43285 Goldmine Drive or online www.bluesforthezoo.com.

This lakeside setting among the ancient pines provides a scenic backdrop for a day of internationally recognized musicians plus a selection of local arts and crafts with food and beverage menu.

Four restaurants will be offering fresh fare from barbecued chicken quarters and grilled hamburgers, gourmet hot dogs to salads, hot pastrami and a selection of dessert items.

Area artisans will have a variety of handmade products for sale including; ceramics, jewelry, paintings, photography, hand dyed silks, soaps and botanical lotions.

Headlining the day of music will be the Windy City Harmonica Breakdown, bringing together two generations of Chicago blues-harp greats, including a rare West Coast appearance by preeminent harmonica ace Billy Branch, a charismatic stage performer.

Music runs 3:00pm to 7:00 pm with gates opening at 1:00pm. Beach chairs and blankets are welcome for lawn seating. The Swim Beach will be open to concert attendees.
