Palm Springs Hiking
Any time of the year is good for a trip to Palm Springs but if you want to go hiking September through early May is best. Mornings are cool and even during the afternoon the temperature is still pleasant unlike the 100 degree summer days.
Here is a list of some great places to go hiking in and around Palm Springs, California.

Whitewater Preserve in Palm Springs has become a sanctuary of the Southern California Wildlands Conservancy. Abutting the San Gorgonio Wilderness, and part of the 33,000 acre Sand to Snow Preserve System, it is a great place to visit and a great jump-off spot for trails in the region.
Coachella Valley Preserve is located 10 miles east of Palm Springs near 1,000 Palms, and fed by water seeping out of the San Andreas Fault, this 17,000-acre Preserve is a natural refuge where visitors can discover rare and wonderful wildlife species while being surrounded by tight groves of fan palm trees.
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes you from the desert floor to mountains. This thrilling adventure is taken aboard rotating tram cars that hold up to eighty passengers. Miles of hiking trails in the cool mountains. Best bet for summer hiking in Palm Springs.
