The Carlsbad Village Street Fair is about three blocks of booths selling every imaginable item. Local shops in the area take advantage of the huge crown and put out things for sale in front of their shops. With some careful shopping you can save a bundle over retail and online stores.
This event is billed as the largest street fair in California and once you see all the people you will know why. Attendance can top 80,000 and this is a one day fair.
Expect to see about 900 vendors selling clothes, accessories, plants, household products, art, antiques and home products. Youngsters have their own area with games, a super slide, a rock climbing wall and face painting.
Typical fair food-is abundant plus there is also a food truck area. Food is slightly expensive and mostly not too healthy. All the walking will help burn off the calories from the fair food plus its all part of the fun.
Parking for street fair is difficult at best. There is complimentary shuttles that runs every 15 minutes with pick-up locations are at Westfield Shopping Plaza and the Poinsettia Coaster Station.
You might be better off trying to find street parking or pay to park, shuttle lines can be long and you end up waiting in line longer than enjoying the street fair.
If you miss the fall Carlsbad Village Street Fair they do a rerun in early May. Dogs are allowed at this event.
