Fillmore & Western Railway Ventura County Heritage Valley

In 2021, after more than 30 years of operation, the Fillmore & Western Railway ceased operations. The new owners, Sierra Northern Railway, signed a 35-year lease to operate on the Ventura County line. They purchased most of the locomotives, rolling stock, and other assets from the former F&W operation. The line is used for freight, move, and TV set operations. Tourist trains may be restarted, but no set date has been announced. The Filmore Train is permanently closed. There are no plans to offer public train excursions along this line.
