The last Doheny Blues Festival at Doheny Beach SP was held in 2019, and it is uncertain whether the event will occur again.
The Doheny Blues Festival is a renowned music festival in mid-May at Doheny State Beach. It offers non-stop music on three alternating stages, delicious food, microbrew sampling, unique vendors, and fun activities for the whole family. The festival is considered one of the top blues music festivals in the nation. It has featured famous artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Brian Setzer, Aaron Neville, Tommy Castro, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and many more.
Doheny State Park park offers overnight camping and a spacious waterfront grass park. Two main stages are placed at opposite ends of the grassy field, with a third stage. In its tree-lined bowl, the Back porch offers intimate sets of music during the weekend.
The Doheny Blues Festival uses the Event Band System, an intelligent wristband that serves as your festival ticket and an electronic wallet. As in previous years, Doheny attendees must wear a wristband during the event.
The Food Court at Doheny Blues will include a variety of vendors, everything from BBQ ribs and cajun sausage to vegetarian pitas. Beverages of all types will be available, including beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcohol drinks. All food and beverages will be purchased.
Vendor Village is sprinkled throughout the entire lawn at Doheny State Beach and consists of 50+ different “storefronts,” everything from hand-crafted art to hats and merchandise.
The Doheny Blues Festival is an event of national recognition that features world-class performers and takes place in a scenic location. The festival has previously hosted renowned artists such as B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty, The Black Crowes, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Etta James. The festival runs for two days, with three music stages, and attracts an average of 30,000 visitors to Dana Point for the weekend.
Getting to the Doheny Blues Festival
