These include the UVSA Tết Festival, Santa Ana Tết (Lunar New Year) Festival, Mile Square Park Tết Festival, and the Parade in Westminster, California. These festivals are events and celebrations of our rich cultural heritage, offering various cultural experiences, traditional foods, and community gatherings.
UVSA Tet Festival: This is recognized as the nation’s largest Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival. For the first time since 2013, it will return to Garden Grove Park from January 31 to February 2, 2025. The festival will showcase Vietnamese culture, food, and entertainment under “A Spring of Remembrance” or “Xuân Hoài Niệm.”
Santa Ana Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival: The city of Santa Ana will host its second annual festival on January 25, 2025, at Centennial Park from 1 to 6 p.m. The event will feature cultural performances, including lion and dragon dances, a kids’ zone, community resources, and a fireworks show at 5:45 p.m.
Mile Square Park Tet Festival: This festival, which takes place at Mile Square Park from January 31 to February 2, 2025, offers a range of activities, including traditional performances, Vietnamese cuisine, and cultural exhibitions.
Tet Parade in Westminster: The City of Westminster will host its 2025 Tết Parade, which celebrates the Lunar New Year and the Vietnamese-American community in Little Saigon. The parade begins on February 1, 2025, at the intersection of Bolsa Avenue and Magnolia Street.
San Diego Tết Festival (Jan 31 – Feb 2, 2025): The San Diego Tết Festival at Liberty Station is a vibrant celebration of the Lunar New Year. It features traditional dances, music, and food. Admission is free.
Southern California Tết Festival Attractions
The Southern California Tết Festivals are not just about cultural exhibits and Vietnamese foods. They are a vibrant celebration that attracts local visitors and those from the broader community. Each year, the festival welcomes over 100,000 attendees and continues to grow in size and quality, making it a must-add event to your to-do list. In addition to various Vietnamese foods and cultural exhibits, the highlight of the Tết Festival is the Miss Vietnam of Southern California pageant. This event is open to Southern California residents of Vietnamese descent currently enrolled in high school or college.
Additionally, there is a Children’s pageant for children aged 4 to 11. Participants wear traditional Vietnamese clothing and compete for prizes. Several contests occur throughout the three-day event, including the best floral arrangement, photo, and video contests focused on the festival, and the very popular Pho Eating Contest.

This year there will be only one Tet Festival in Orange County. Last year’s Mile Square Park Fountain Valley festival was a success but due to financial issues, there will no festival at Mile Square Park for 2017.
